Van Halen T Shirts
Van Halen debuted in 1978. In this debut, Van Halen rewrote all the rules of rock guitar and hard rock. Edward Van Halen had the first technique, self taught, of two handed string tapping. The sounds that came out of his guitar sounded a lot like machines and animals. These new types of sounds caught the attention of people all over the world. Lead vocalist, David Lee Roth, was the showman of the band. He didn’t have an unbelievable talent like Eddie, but with his struts and sultry looks, Van Halen became one of the most popular bands on the late 1970′s and early 1980′s. This could be easily noticed as millions of teenagers wore these Van Halen t shirts.

During the 1980′s Van Halen’s sound could be heard on rock n roll, heavy metal, and even soft pop stations. There were selling out numerous areas. Everyone and their dog had at least one of the many types of Van Halen t shirts. In 1985 Roth and the members of Van Halen had a falling out. Sammy Hagar, a well known guitarist and vocalist, replaced David Lee Roth. This replacment shocked the world. Hagar’s lyrics combined with Eddie’s guitar made the new Van Halen, Van Hagar, even more popular than they were before. Hagar was together with Van Halen longer than Roth. Van Hagar had many number one hits and won many awards. In the mid 1990′s sales started to decline. Van Halen fired Hagar after a dispute and replaced him with David Lee Roth. Roth was only on board for two songs that were placed on a greatest hits album, although Roth claims that many new songs were recorded. Later Gary Cherone, of Extreme, replaced Roth. With so many different lead singers, one for each decade, there were many different Van Halen t shirts one could purchase for Christmas gifts.

During all of Van Halen’s success things may had looked good publicly but inside the group things were not well. In the 1980′s Eddie and Roth were each forming solo careers causing much tension in the group. In the 1990′s even more tensions became public. Eddie underwent treatment for alcoholism. Once out of rehab tensions mounted even more with Hagar. He and Eddie didn’t not agree much on anything. Eddie wanted to release a greatest hits album – Hagar did not. Furthermore there were still even more tensions over the recordings for the Twister soundtrack. Without informing Hagar, Eddie began writing and recording once again with Roth. Hagar had a fit about Eddie’s backstabbing. According to Hagar, Eddie fired him on the spot. However, Eddie says Hagar quit. There is a photo of Sammy ripping up one of his many Van Halen t shirts that went public.
Roth recorded a few tracks with Eddie. No one knows what exactly became of those recordings. Seems that Roth and Eddie again Thus Gary Cherone was hired as lead vocalist. They released an album which was the worst selling album of Van Halen’s career. Van Halen t shirts were not being seen on many teenagers. Cherone was dismissed immediately which tarnished his once strong career. In the years to follow, Eddie went public stating he was battling cancer. During this time the band parted ways with Warner Bros. Warner Bros. had been Van Halens label since the beginning in 1979. Van Halen commented that Warner Bros. only would promote younger bands. Still with no new singer Van Halen disbanded, and yet still many people wear Van Halen t shirts.
