The Guinness Book of World Records listed it as such. If you have lived under a rock for the majority of your life, you may not be aware of this tv series. However I am sure that you have seen people wearing Dr. Who t shirts, especially ones featuring the icon for this series, the Tardis.

The assassination of the US President John F. Kennedy was the day that this series premiered on BBC. That date being November 22, 1963. Due to the overwhelming outcry from voices around the world, this series was re-aired by BBC due to this sad event before the second episode aired. Dr. Who, the 25 minute series, first ran from the 1963-1989. In 1996, the series was aired as a short television film in order to try to resurrect it. This was not accepted well by viewers, so the science fiction drama was put back on the shelf until 2005. Dr. Who has now be running continuously, as a 45 minute drama, on BBC, since that year.  In 2010, this low budget drama has been aired in HD. One of the reasons for the longest running series award is due to the fact that it appeals to children as well as adults. There is even a cult following for this beloved show. If you are a fan of science fiction there is no reason for you not to own some Dr. Who t shirts.

Dr. Who, the science fiction television drama, is about a humanoid, known as the Doctor, who travels though time and space in a blue police box, circa London 1963, known as the Tardis. This police box, or Tardis, has not changed over the years. It has stayed original from the series premiere in 1963. This Tardis is the tv series’ icon. In 1998, The Metropolitan Police Authority objected to this trademark. However in 2002, the Patent Office ruled in favor of BBC. Dr. Who, the series, uses very low budget special effects. Much like those of the Batman television series as well as comic series. Over the years the doctors appearance has changed due to different actors coming and going. The series easily switches to different actors’ appearances by simply stating that the Doctor has gone through ‘regeneration’. Regeneration causes his outer appearance as well as personality to change. During this long lived series, the Doctor has had many new companions and has encounter numerous villains while trying to save the universe and righting all the wrongs. Many punk rockers like to watch Dr. Who.

Heavy Metal T Shirts

Each individual has his or her own preferences. Some of these music genres have been combined to create  melodious menageries. However some of these combinations are not so melodious. The combination of the heavy metal genre and the emo genre has me mortified to say the least. This heavy metal music is also known as Screamo, and it has some killer Heavy Metal T Shirts.  And that is just what it is. This Screamo genre gives heavy metal a bad name. The heavy metal music incorporates good guitar, bass, and percussions sounds with god awful, shitty vocals. The lyrics are so muffled, by the demonic screeching , that there is no way of understanding what these whinny bastards are even trying to relate. My husband and I were miserably listening to a song by the Black Veil Brides in an attempt to understand this music genre. His comments are as follows: “Who is performing this song? It sounds like Cookie Monster being brutally beaten to death.” I had to agree. Although once upon a time I enjoyed heavy metal music. But they do have really cool Heavy Metal T Shirts that you should buy for Christmas.

Heavy Metal t shirtListening to music should be very enjoyable. But this heavy metal music called Screamo is far from that. If you would like to be prescribed a mild sedative by your primary care physician then all you need do is listen to this type of music on the drive to his/her office. You will not only be prescribed a mild sedative but also more than likely high blood pressure medicine. Hopefully your doctor will also notice your bleeding eardrums. You might be able to get some pain relievers as well. Saying this music is enjoyable is like saying you enjoy eating a warm bowl of fresh dog shit for breakfast. There is just no way in the world that anyone could actually  enjoy listening to this trash. I don’t even think this should be labeled ‘music.’ It should be labeled as utter garbage, but the Heavy Metal T Shirts are awesome.

There are many bands who actually make a living at performing this type of Screamo heavy metal music. This list includes: Asking Alexandria, Black Veil Brides, Attack Attack, The Number Twelve Looks Like You, Pianos Become Teeth, Red JumpSuit Apparatus, Combatwounded, Alesana, The Devil Wears Prada, Demon Hunter, and Kinds in the Way. This list goes on and on. This Screamo heavy metal music started in the late 80′s to early 90′s. If only it could have ended then as well. Hopefully soon, kids will realize that listening to this type of music is just a way to get rid of their angst, and for stores to sell them Heavy Metal T shirts. That is the one, and only, good aspect  that this heavy metal music can offer the world. A way for teens to release their anger. Whatever the case, please sooner than later, let this music be laid to rest. RIP Screamo music. Let heavy metal go back to it’s root form so the world can once again be a relaxing place for all, but keep the cool Heavy Metal T shirts.

Punk is about having a unique perspective. Punks respect each other, but disrespect authority. But most of all Punk is a fashion that requires you to wear punk rock clothing.

Punk rock was started in the Seventies with bands like  the Sex Pistols, the Misfists , and  Black Flag. The first punk bands were in the UK and it quickly spread to the  United States. Punk rock clothing apexes in the Eighties. Punk Rock then took a break in-between the racist white people with shaved heads scene and the vintage punk rock days. These racist with shaved heads were known as Skinheads, they often wore punk rock clothing  and used music to spread their disgusting messages of hatred. Meanwhile the vintage punk followers maintained a positive message of goodwill and disrespect for authority.

Currently there are many different sounds that encompass punk music. Punk is an attitude, no a specific sound, its really about how the bands deliver their anti-authorial message. Most new punk bands have  socialist or political inclinations. New punk rockers are bands such as Flogging Molly, Green Day,  Alkaline, Dead Kennedy’s, the Offspring and NOFX. Each of these musical acts has a distinctive sounds, what makes them similar is that their music is allegorical and the wear similar punk rock clothing. They compose music which contains the feeling and message of punk. And they all wear punk rock clothing.

Punk Rock ClothingWould you like to be a  punk?  It’s not at all difficult. These suggestions will assist you in becoming a legend in the Punk scene.

  1. Attitude – act foolishly.  Destroy common household objects. Make anti government political statements, disregard higher education, consume alcohol until you vomit, and finally disrespect law enforcement.
  2. Appearance . Wear your hair in liberty spikes and get many tattoos. Sharpen the tips of your liberty spikes using the stickies of gels, or forgo actual hair products and use glue! Cover your arms is sleeves of tattoos and pierce your own ears using a safety pin (bonus points for just leaving the safety pin in and not wearing and actual earring.
  3. Punk Rock Clothing . You must have a leather motorcycle jacket.You should wear punk rock t-shirts of undiscovered bands (NEVER under any circumstances wear the shirt of the band you are going to see at their show, this would mark you as a poser). Your  jeans torn and rarely washed, washing jeans removes the punk aroma. For footwear vintage converse shoes are an absolute must, but for concerts a nice pair of steel toe doc martens are perfect for bashing kneecaps in the Pit.
  4. Complain incessantly. Despise anything related to corporations that are ruining the word. Complain that other types of music sucks.  Be an Asshole! People that aren’t punk should be afraid of you, when you talk to strangers scream out lyrics from your favorite punk band.
  5. Most importantly drop out, quit your job, occupy wall street and wear your  punk rock clothing.
