Founding member, Glenn Danzig (Glenn Allen Anzalone), founded The Misfits in Lodi, New Jersey, in 1977. Throughout the years since, the member list has fluctuated. The band’s current members include: Glenn Danzig, Jerry Only, Des Cadena, and Eric “Chupacabra” Arce. Glenn had a fascination with Marilyn Monroe. The band’s name was taken from her last movie entitled, The Misfits. There have been a number of other members since the band was founded. Some of these members include: Doyle Wolfgang von Frankenstein, Dr. Chud, Michale Graves, Robo, Marky Ramone, Bobby Steele, and Mr. Jim, to name a few. Jerry Only has been the only consistence member of the Misfits throughout the years. Jerry Only is the band’s bassist and vocalist. He has an infamous hair style called the devilock, in which he has been credited for creating. Each and every incarnation of the Misfits has always used imagery, makeup, clothing, and lyrics inspired by B listed horror and science fiction films. The sound of the band has slightly drifted from their original harsh, sinister, punk melodies and lyrics into a lesser evil sounding heavy Misfits t shirtsmetal band. Flogging Molly is a seven member band who are signed with Borstal Beat Records. Dave King, vocalist for Flogging Molly, was once the lead vocalist for the metal band Fastway. He then moved on to be a member of a hard rock band named Katmandu, before he joined Floggy Molly. Other members include Bridget Regan on fiddle, tin whistle, and vocals. Today the two,King and Regan, are happily married. They were married in Tokyo, Japan while on tour. Other members of Flogging Molly include: Dennis Casey: guitar and vocals, Nathen Maxwell: bass and vocals, Bob Schmidt: mandolin and banjo, George Schwindt: drums and percussion, and Matt Hensley: accordion. There are many Flogging Molly t shirts with the band’s name and/or pictures of the band. Flogging Molly has produced five studio albums to date, three live albums, and one extended play album. They have had 12 US singles released between the years of 2000 and 2012. The most popular of these singles are “Float” which reached 40th position, “Requiem for a Dying Song” which reached 35th position, and “Don’t Shut ‘Em Down” which reached 39th postion on the US Alternative Song List.
